From 1949 to 1987 "Taco Guy" on La Salsa was "Burger Guy"on Frostie Freeze.  La Salsa purchased the location in 1987, turned the burger into a tray, gave him a tan and a new outfit = "Taco Guy". Source: Experiencing LA

I ran into a nice Evelyn Ackerman.  The title is Pennants, from 1958 Opening at the Marine Art Salon in Venice

I didn't make it to this but there was supposed to be some vintage Eames.
Play Mountain is a nice shop in the Shibuya area of Tokyo.  They carry contemporary craft, including some by California artists along with Heath Ceramics. The owner drew me a great map of where I should hit up in the area. He also suggested I go to Be a Good Neighbor Coffee Kiosk.

They gave me a lemon cake the first time I went and a button the second time. Super nice people and the coffee was great. 

San Diego Craft, Then and Now

As part of their San Diego's Craft Revolution exhibit, the Mingei held a panel discussion calledSan Diego Craft, Then and Now. Larry Hunter, Wendy Maruyama and Tanya Aguiñiga discussed the history of the  San Diego State furniture program and their experiences as teachers, pupils and artists.  Larry Hunter: Woodworking, The New Wave Hunter studied under John Dirks.

Wendy Maruyama Maruyama studied under Hunter and has been a professor in Woodworking and Furniture Design  at San Diego State University since 1989.
