Here is my load from Downtown Modernism.  It was another great one! Donald Drumm wall mounted candelabra and more of the Raymor spot lamps. Some dealers/auctions have attributed them to Harry Gitlin but I don't think Raymor sold his lamps. Handmade stool that has a label from the City/County of San Francisco. I'm curious if they worked with someone we might know on some sort of commission. Freeman Lederman bell. These are from their Import Collection. Although it does have a Tackett look, I think it was part of a collection they imported from Japan. A tea set by Richard Shaw Aluminum box and a nice Joel Edwards Olga Lee, Charles Allen, Paul McCobb and George Nelson

I love bisque Architectural Pottery so I was pretty happy about this collection from an original owner. They are mostly by Malcolm Leland but there are a couple La Gardo Tackett large cones and one by Paul McCobb. I always found it a little strange that Paul McCobb designed for AP. All the other designers were based in Southern California. McCobb is the only east coast designer I can think of. Isamu Noguchi James Wayne glass vase, Thomas Ferreira, Kenji Fujita and Eames Kurt Versen Speaking of classic lamps, a friend gave me some awesome ephemera. Merit Specified! It includes some Pascoe drawings. I also picked up a couple photos from an LA based product photographer. Seen here is a Dan Johnson chair. There are a lot of goodies in this shot.

Paul McCobb / Wright

On June 29th, Wright will hold the first auction dedicated solely to Paul McCobb.   Much of it comes from the collection of Reform Gallery . Pavilion Collection room divider, model 6000, by Arbuck Paul McCobb designed a lot of pieces. The simple geometry of the Pavilion collection is at the top for me. 1953 Arbuck catalog Pavilion Collection chair, model 6550 , by Arbuck Seagrass and iron. So good. Magazine rack, model 6521 for Northcraft Lighting Co. USA, 1951 McCobb's lighting designs are some of his best work, and the hardest to come by. This one, produced by Excelsior Art Studios USA in 1954, might be his best. Yes, he designed radios too.  CBS-Columbia USA, 1955 All images via Wright See the rest here . And make sure to check out all the period documentation links.  It's a goldmine!
