My stuff came back from the Mingei San Diego's Craft Revolution exhibition,  now with  museum exhibition labels.

Close out   San Diego’s Craft Revolution   with an insider’s look at how it all came together. By focusing on members of the Allied Craftsman group, this exhibition explores San Diego craft from 1940s modernism to the funk and post-modernism of the 1970s. Hydrodynamica exhibit at  Space 4 Art .  The exhibition focuses  on surfboard pioneers Bob Simmons and Carl Ekstrom and the technology used   to develop the modern day surfboard.  Eames chairs, Eames quotes and surfboards.   The idea is that surfboard building and post-war modern California design were on similar paths.  Eames and boomerangs Surfboards Carl Ekstrom boards Svetozar Radakovich, in collaboration with Carl Ekstrom, did these foam, fiberglass, wood and resin doors. As part of their San Diego's Craft Revolution exhibit, the Mingei  held a  panel discussion called   San Diego Craft, Then and Now . Larry Hunter, Wendy Maruyama and Tanya Aguiñiga discussed  the history  of the  San Diego State furniture program and their experiences as teachers,  pupils and artists .  Larry Hunter: Woodworking, The New Wave Hunter studied under John Dirks.   Larry Hunter Wood Clock Wendy Maruyama Maruyama studied under Hunter and has been a p rofessor in  Woodworking and Furniture Design  at San Diego State University since 1989.  Wendy Maruyama Book Stand Tanya Aguiñiga Aguiñiga studied under  Maruyama and now teaches at Otis College of Art and Design.
