I went to Arizona over the weekend and had a little time to do some shopping. The tag on the Eames wire chair said it was a DWR Eames chair. I'm assuming that was what Google Lens told them. It's actually a nice one from the '60s. It was marked down, so it had been there for at least it bit.   I wanted to keep this one, but didn't. Cabat hanger. This once hung at Rose and Ernie's house.

  Early Doyle Lane vase The Doyle Lane came with Ralph Bacerra and Vivika and Otto Heino pots. These three all came together which is interesting because both Lane and Bacerra studied under Vivika. In the new Doyle Lane Book , Lane didn't have good things to say about the Heinos. David Stewart and Peter Shire Bronze produce California Design 11 poster and books.

I went to Mexico City and did a little shopping while I was there. Pepe Mendoza and snakes. The bookends are by Don Shoemaker. It's a design by him I've never seen before. A scene from La Lagunilla flea market in Mexico City.

I had a good weekend. Getting pieces by Henry Takemoto and Doyle Lane on the same day doesn't happen often. It's funny that the Takemoto has weed pots on it ann the Lane isn't a weed pot. The cups are by James Makins.  George Nelson, Carl Aubock and Paolo Soleri.  Knoll tables and smalls. I'm not really a Danish guy. However, these are my favorite salt and pepper grinders. It's been a while.  Here's another look at the Lane bowl. The weed pots get all the attention and I get why. However, I like all utilitarian and odd ball pieces as well.  Plus, the world must have known I needed more Lane in my life. They picked up my loans to the Huntington today. Between the holiday and bike camping over the weekend,  I only shopped a little on Friday. I did get a pair of Lemurian Crafts walnut beakers by Reynolds G. Dennis. MoMA has one There it is on the ESU in MoMA Good Design (1951).  If you need a refresher on the Lemurians, read this article by Dave Hampton:  Ancient Modern: Lost Crafts of the Lemurians Vintage photograph of the Phoenix Financial Center, designed by W.A. Sarmiento Books and MoMA cookie cutters from the estate of a local architect ended up at the junk swap. He was active in San Diego between the 1980s through mid-2000s as far as I can tell. He designed the Seaside Market in Cardiff by the Sea.
