Architecture in Museums / Palm Springs

The  Architecture and Design Council of the Palm Springs Art Museum  hosted a lecture by Henry Urbach: Exhibition as Atmosphere or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Architecture in Museums Urbach's resume is impressive.  He just started his position as  director of Philip Johnson’s Glass House.  Prior to that he was the   was the curator of architecture and design at SF MoMA. He also ran a gallery  of contemporary  architecture in New York. Museum courtyard Exhibition as atmosphere and the complexities of showing architecture in museums and galleries was the focus of the lecture. Evans Clark for Circle Furniture Manufacturers Lot 284 Arts & Architecture, 1953 Circle was way out there in Glendora. Evans Clark also designed for Glenn of California.  Greta Grossman for Brown Saltman.  Lot 32 I've seen references that show Grossman designed for Brown Saltman,  but I never would  have guessed it looked like this.   1942 is pretty early for  Grossman in the US.  She landed  stateside  in 1940 and opened her Rodeo Drive shop in 1941. The Falkenstein Foundation just published a great book.  It's called Claire Falkenstein I bought mine at Jack Rutberg Fine Arts Pignatelli Gates, 1957 Rome, 1958 San Francisco Museum of Art, 1948 This one is at the Rutberg exhibition .
