Palm Springs Modernism Show / 2020

This was the 20th Anniversary of the Palm Springs Modernism Show and Sale.  To celebrate Objects USA decided not to do the show.  I still attended as a tourist, so you would think I would have more time to document the show, go to lectures and tour homes. Well, that didn't happen. As you'll see here, I basically took photos down one row. Luckily it was the best one.   First off is  Archive . In addition to some rare Dunbar in the foreground, there was a fiber work by Tanya AnguiƱiga .  Then there was Gio Ponti and artwork by avant-garde Laguna Beach artist Andy Wing . Sputnik always brings the heat from Texas. This time it included some Larry Hunter. This David Wurster lamp was one of my favorite things at the show. They also had two Cynthia Sargent pieces. Red Modern always has a great mix. This year it included a pair of Max Gottschalk lounges. Billings Auction with the Ponti. There were five auction houses...

Archive 20th Century  stacked it high with great stuff Reform Gallery  with California's finest J.B. Blunk at  Reform Gallery Sputnik does not mess around. Get it, they're from Texas. Sputnik   Funkis Billings Red had these great Allen Ditson chairs √ Red Atomic Home Modern Dharam Damama Design One Lisa Cliff Collection Objects USA Objects USA Dave Hampton of Objects USA showed work by Kay Whitcomb The Museum Of California Design  Plastics from Paradise: California Modernizes the American Lifestyle Exhibition    The Viejas box on the right was loaned by Keith York of Modern San Diego . The 17th annual  Palm Springs Modernism Show  did not disappoint this year. Dealers brought some great pieces and the crowds showed up in full force to scoop it up. The show is over, but  Modernism Week  events are still going on....

Objects USA booth at the 2016  Palm Springs Modernism  show and sale. Delivered Dharam Damama The Damamas are the coolest. They have cool stuff too.  Red Modern from Phoenix Reform Gallery Sputnik Modern from Dallas brought some power inventory. Lisa Cliff Collection San Diego's finest Billiings Auction Billiings also had a display of work by Rafe Affleck in the lobby. Keep an eye on these guys. They're digging up some cool stuff. The Landing was showing J.B. Blunk at the Fine Art Fair , which is in the same building.  John Mason and Craig Kaufman at  Frank Lloyd Gallery   John Mason They were also showing Larry Bell...in the flesh. He was given a lifetime achievement award . Lacoste Gallery  had some great clay. The monster in the front is by Karen Karnes.  There were a number of contemporary paintings of modern architecture, including...
