Schindler House / Kings Road
There's a lot of debate about the first modern houses. I'm not sure this is one of the first but it's certainly one of the best. I've been a number of times but it's always a treat to visit Kings Road and think about all the wild parties that happened there.
For being one of the most important houses in Los Angeles, its also one of the most accessible. When I've been, it has always been easy to get a ticket and only a few other visitors. Inevitably, it's been me and a few European architecture geeks.
The house is operated by the MAK Center.
