Desert View Tower / Boulder Park

The Desert View Tower was built in 1900 with the construction of the "new" road to San Diego.
It's near the Imperial and San Diego County boarder on In-Ko-Pah Park Road in Jacumba.

There's stuff for sale in the tower. I don't think the Flintstone-modern rocker is up for grabs.

At the top.

The Desert View

The famous Boulder Park is just across the road from the tower. It was carved in 1933 by Merle Ratcliff, an unemployed engineer.
I guess it was his own WPA project.

I'm not sure what was going on here.
