ELIZABETH MCCORD: SOFT COLOR
The Landing at Reform
OPENING RECEPTION: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH TH, 7-9:30 PM
ON DISPLAY: FEBRUARY 6TH-APRIL 5TH
Elizabeth McCord (1914-2008) was a California Modernist painter best known for her 1940s, 50s and 60s canvases. Her work Big Pink was the only painting chosen to appear in LACMA's sweeping 2011 survey of mid-century California design, Living in a Modern Way.
If you're in LA tonight, you should definitely get out of the house and go to this opening at Reform and the Grapevine book signing. Go get your Grapevine book signed at 6pm and then head over to Reform. They're less than 5 miles apart.
Elizabeth McCord painting hanging in June Wayne's house, which was deigned by Alvin Lustig.
FYI- Contrary to what this dealer is saying, these lamps were not deigned by Lustig. Update: The dealer is now saying the lamps are by Harry Lawenda. I wonder if they have any documentation on that?
